The Audience Development team is at the heart of UMC's work to grow bigger, more engaged global audiences for our artists and their catalogues. We develop innovative plans with a focus on storytelling, leveraging established platforms and pursuing emerging digital opportunities.
A Day in the Life
Digital Expertise
• Educate and inspire the label, artists and managers around digital opportunities
• Use knowledge of existing platforms to accelerate audience growth & engagement
• Lead creative thinking to deliver PR-worthy ideas and industry firsts
• Identify emerging platforms and establish how we should engage with them
• Deepen relationships with digital partners and generate partnership opportunities
Team Leadership
• Build and develop relationships with key artist managers and business stakeholders
• Lead the pitching of ideas to artist teams and provide ongoing strategic consultancy
• Be the lead contact in the team for certain artists and projects
• Deputise where necessary for the Audience Development Director
• Manage multiple direct reports and develop talent
Campaign Delivery
• Write comprehensive digital marketing plans and lead their execution
• Support more junior teammates in campaign development and delivery
• Appoint and manage specialist content suppliers and agencies
• Lead on marketing effectiveness and help prove what is working
• Oversee the team's campaign marketing budgets and expenditure

• Aptitude for thinking strategically and creatively.
• Proven success in establishing new ways of working.
• An organiser who brings large complex teams together
• Ability to map out and build a strong professional network.
• Fast learner who can work autonomously and solve problems.
• Someone who enjoys teaching others and developing within the business.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels of business.
• Confident meeting and presenting to artist management and external partners.
• Self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic.
• Hold a deep understanding of culture, technology and internet behaviour
• Passionate about music and the digital landscape – and ultimately a music obsessed fan with broad tastes!
