Job Description

THE TEAM

The Event Programming team are responsible for the development and maintenance of all events and information sold throughout the Ticketmaster distribution network. The team ensure that the requirements of Ticketmaster clients (internal & external) are met and represented via all distribution channels. The Event Programming Centre Team Leader provides effective leadership, direction, and motivation of staff in order to meet event services standards and business wide objectives.

The team are specifically responsible for the building of events, advanced event configurations, event amendments management, inventory changes, price changes/promotions and event quality assurance. The Event Programming Centre Team Leader assists in the management of the Event Programming team and is also responsible for general department tasks/duties.

THE JOB

The Event Programmer is responsible for the development and maintenance of all events and information sold through the Ticketmaster distribution network. The Event Programmer ensures that events are programmed accurately and also provides reporting information and other duties where necessary in the lifecycle of an event on the Ticketmaster system.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Event Building
• Prepare, create, check and maintain all types of performances to ensure all events are programmed accurately and correctly. Thoroughly check and verify any projects undertaken by Event Programming team.
• Analyse all submitted performance information in order to achieve optimum event design for both clients and ticket sellers through the network =
• Create, update and check accurate online Information Manager pages, using the Ticketmaster software, for all events; ensure the use of correct standardised forms
• Set accurate on-and-off sale times for events
• Assist in the coordination of event on-sales, including on-sale calls
• Monitor on-sales diary to ensure event builds for scheduled event on-sales are being received in time

Analysis and Reporting
• Conduct daily stop time procedures at the appropriate hour
• Disseminate event information to all relevant Ticketmaster departments and the selling network
• Generate system reports
• Provide Client Managers/Client Development Managers with information and updates on key projects and major events (AFL, Formula 1, Australian Open, Major Music etc)

Troubleshooting and support
• Anticipate problems within event building and plan contingencies and strategies to deal with them
• Support the Client Management team in the relationship with the venue and promoter
• Be aware of each venue's and promoter's policies and procedures and assist in the facilitation of instructions
• Provide administrative, technical, and specialised support to all relevant Ticketmaster departments/clients

Team Leading
• Manage the end to end operations of the event building and checking process within the Event Programming Centre
• Promote a positive working environment for all Event Programmers
• Regularly liaise with Client Managers, and other departments to ensure that all clients and customers are given the highest level of service
• Monitor and evaluate Event Programmers to ensure required levels of service are provided to clients at all times
• Ensure that the department output delivers client and customer needs while adhering to contractual requirements.
• Represent the Event Programming team in interdepartmental projects and discussions.
• In conjunction with the Director, Event Programming Centre and others and directed; effectively train, coach and motivate the Event Programming team; ensuring ongoing training, career and personal development within the team
• Ensure training occurs in all aspects of the role to enable the team to operate independently and deliver requirements for all events
• Empower team members to take ownership of events and the event building process and provide superior service by making decisions and taking responsibility.
• Maintain departmental documentation on events and procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

Leadership and expert knowledge

The ability to lead and motivate a team; Excellent understanding of Event Programming principles and systems is essential

Customer Focus

Ensure Ticketmaster's internal and external customers' need are continually satisfied and where this isn't possible ensure continual clear communication upfront.

Communication

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The need to also transpose information with minimal errors is paramount.

Flexibility

Ability to accommodate and adapt to the changing needs of the business in a highly pressured working environment. At the same time, proven ability to adhere to set guidelines and process adherence. The availability to work on a rotational basis including weekends, public holidays as well as semi-frequent overtime when required. The Team is also required to be on call regarding urgent event emergencies, high priority changes or out of business hours onsale calls.

Computer Skills

A high level of computer knowledge is advantageous particularly with strengths in Microsoft Office, notepad ++ or a similar text editor, Shell editor and other general windows shortcuts.
