Job Description

This position is responsible for the smooth operations of our Production Systems.

The position works hand in hand with Director and the show producer to produce innovative, high-quality newscasts, pre-production, and Specials. Teamwork is an essential part of this role.

Job Responsibilities:
• Working as part of a team producing live and recorded news programming 24/7/365.
• Technical execution of local news and special programming utilizing Ross Overdrive Automated Production Control.
• Ability to technically produce broadcasts using a range of manual and automated processes.
• Responsible for maintaining high standards of video and audio quality from our Production Control Rooms.
• Support talent in setting up for shows.
• Escort guests and mic as needed for shows.
• Experience with advanced production switcher operation, setup, and execution.
• Ability to build switcher effects, camera shots, etc. as requested by the Production teams.
• Solid technical understanding and troubleshooting of control room production systems.
• Training of daily hires and new employees.
• Work with vendors and internal teams to perform upgrades on critical production systems.
• Creating SOPs for new processes, procedures and updating of existing as needed.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive can-do attitude, must be able to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.

Qualifications
• BA degree in Media/related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a medium to large sized market, performing technical functions in a production control room. Local news preferred.
• Ross Overdrive Production Automation and Dalet Newsroom system desirable.
• Shift work is required. This can involve weekends, and some holidays. We are a 24/7/365 business.
• This is a union role, so will need to join the IBEW.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Spanish speaking desirable.
• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
