KFMB-TV, the TEGNA-owned CBS/CW affiliate in San Diego is seeking an innovative Senior Morning Producer to shape our daily newscasts and contribute to special projects for CBS 8 +. The ideal candidate will create impactful, in-depth work for the San Diego TV audience, making content for our streaming platform a top priority.
Responsibilities:
• Work with daily show producers to craft, build, mold, visualize, and conceptualize the lead story, deep-dive content, and specialized material for the newscast
• Use creative production techniques like graphics, editing and new forms of media to enhance stories
• Work directly with management and talent to consistently build a high-quality news show
• Assists executive producer in copyediting and overlooking newscasts
• Ability to assist in execution of newscasts in absence of news manager
• Effectively communicate show vision to team members
• Write in an urgent, accurate and creative way
• Enterprise news stories
• Lead and inspire a team to work together for a great newscast
Requirements
• BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• 5-7 years of experience preferred, including supervision and leadership of other journalists
• Experience in editing, and content management systems
• Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts, and digital content
• Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
• Knowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics a plus
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
Pay Range
$36.77 - $39.91 USD
