Job Description

KING 5, the first television station in the Pacific Northwest with a legacy of serving the community, has an immediate opening for a Meteorologist to join our team of weather scientists. This position will be responsible for every aspect of meteorology, including forecasting, preparing graphics, posting digital forecasts and reporting in the field. This position is full time, salaried, exempt and union.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a team of meteorologists, as well as other anchors and producers
• Lead innovation in graphics, technologies and platforms for weather delivery
• Prepare and present weather forecasts for newscasts
• Interact with the audience on multiple platforms, especially during severe weather
• Develop story sources to bring unique and community-based pitches to editorial discussions
• Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years on-air experience
• Ability to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends
• Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology or climate science preferred
Pay Range
$115,000 - $175,000 USD
