An FX Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the overall execution of complex and demanding visual effects projects. Working with FX Leads, technical directors, VFX producers, and department heads across multiple sites; they coordinate tasks such as defining the creative and technical direction, managing resources, budgeting, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards to deliver exceptional visual effects that meet client expectations and project goals.
FX Supervisors help lead and inspire the FX team, foster collaboration across departments, resolve technical challenges, and innovate new approaches to achieve groundbreaking visual effects that elevate the production's visual narrative and impact.
Qualifications
Lead and supervise the execution of visual effects projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to creative and technical requirements.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, presenting visual effects progress, addressing feedback, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee and coordinate FX production across multiple sites or teams, ensuring consistent communication, workflow integration, and quality control measures.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and techniques, and implement best practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of FX production.
• Conduct thorough reviews of FX work to ensure it meets artistic and technical requirements, providing constructive feedback and overseeing revisions as needed.
• Continuously improve FX pipelines and tools to streamline production processes, optimize workflow efficiency, and enhance creative capabilities.
• Maintain clear documentation of workflows used in FX development.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by your manager or a Key Business Relationship.
