Job Description
We have an immediate opening for an Account Director in our San Francisco Office.

You excel at leading client account teams and know how to mentor and manage people. You are a doer with great EQ and IQ. You are an earned media specialist, but you understand how to counsel a client (or teammates) across the full spectrum of needs – including awards and conference submissions, crisis/corporate reputation, partnerships, and more.

This is a role for someone who has a specific experience driving corporate narratives, building the profiles of top CEOs, brands, and venture capital firms. You have Fast Company, WSJ, TechCrunch, and Bloomberg bookmarked on your browser and are excited to touch cool clients that span all industries – from emerging tech to retail, health, games, personal finance, lifestyle, and many more.

Most importantly, you want to flex your entrepreneurial muscles. As one of the early members of our San Francisco office, you will help shape the future of our agency (which has deep roots in the Bay, working with some of the top companies in the area). We're looking for someone who is eager to network, support new business, and participate in building a business with the power of a well-established agency behind you.

Responsibilities Include:
• Leading account teams and managing projects from start to finish.
• Developing and executing comprehensive integrated communications strategies, which includes personally securing top tier media opportunities and drafting plans.
• Developing an impactful and trusting relationship with clients.
• Managing complex client issues and seeing the client through stressful situations that will require thoughtful counsel.
• Leading new business meetings, creating proposals as needed.
• Partnering and collaborating with senior level colleagues throughout the agency on integrated (and bi-coastal) accounts.
• Training and mentoring junior staff on the inner workings and executions of PR, thought leadership, and overall client management.
• Responding to client requests and ensuring requests are taken care of in an efficient manner.

You Should Apply If:
• You have at least 8 years working in PR, with a focus on corporate, technology and/or enterprise media relations.
• You've managed a team with direct oversight for at least 3 years.
• You have demonstrated success in securing top-tier press placements that have an impact on the client's bottom line.
• You are a strategic partner with internal and external stakeholders and can think outside the box to create insightful media moments.
• You are a strong writer – persuasive, concise, creative, and quick!
• You are confident in your ability to pitch new business and have a track record to back it up.
• You are a strategic thinker, bring new ideas to the table, and love a good brainstorm.
• You have strong decision-making abilities and accountability.
• You have an innate curiosity and an entrepreneurial spirit
• You are incredibly organized, detail oriented, and able to excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• You aren't content with simply meeting expectations; you strive to over-deliver and take genuine pride in being part of something good.
