POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Systems Administrator provides assistance with server, system, and desktop administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of networking concepts.

Working closely under the Director, Technology Services, the Junior Systems Administrator supports Sundance Institute’s commitment to the discovery of independent film and media artists from around the world and introducing audiences to their new work.

This full-time position is based out of our Park City, Utah office in order to work onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout the year. There will be regular opportunities to work from home. Extended hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends will be required at key points throughout the year. Travel to other Institute events may be required.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Providing support, research, and timely resolution to escalated technical support tickets and performing user account management as needed.
• Ensuring platform management system policies are functioning smoothly.
• Supporting the implementation of higher-level projects and system/network maintenance.
• Providing network support assistance during the Festival, including patching and maintenance of the deployed infrastructure as directed.
• During the Festival, assists with network troubleshooting and management to ensure optimal performance.
• Overseeing and managing the escalation of tickets from the help desk system.
• Supporting the creation and removal of user accounts within Active Directory.
• Installing network hardware components and cables.
• Configuring network hardware.
• Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving minor network issues.
• Providing technical support to co-workers.
• Collaborating with other members of the IT team and management to provide departmental support.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• 2 years experience providing technical support, experience with help desk preferred.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts.
• Strong ability to learn and adapt, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of VPN connections (SSL/site-to-site VPN connectivity), local area network and wide area network (LAN/WAN) familiarity, and experience with Linux / Windows environments preferred.
• Communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of people is a plus.
• Experience with Windows Group Policy management.
• Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) equivalency is preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
