The Coordinator, Archives & Digital Assets, is charged with tracking and processing a wide variety of archival content, including ingesting digital assets into the Institute’s digital asset management system, updating archive records, and inventory of assets. Additionally, the Coordinator is the primary point of contact for fielding incoming archives requests.

Working under the Associate Director, Archives & Collection and closely with the Archivist, the Coordinator will also provide key organizational support to the department. This full-time position is based out of our Park City, UT office from Tuesday, September 6, 2022 through Friday, August 25, 2023 with regular hours in our Salt Lake City based archives, and opportunities for remote work. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required on occasion.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Acquiring, organizing, and preparing large quantities of photos and videos to ingest into the digital asset management system, includes making selects, adding required metadata, keywords/tagging, and rights-management data.
• Using publications, internal documentation, and online research to confirm accurate metadata and conduct research as needed.
• Using Photoshop and Lightroom to reformat and convert media into additional formats.
• Helping with file and server cleanup by performing, monitoring, and verifying large-scale copy jobs.
• Monitoring and maintaining asset quality, metadata accuracy/reliability, and file integrity to support long-term preservation and access to assets.
• Supporting collecting, appraising, arranging, and describing analog and digital assets.
• Helping to process manuscript collections, and performing basic preservation tasks.
• Supporting digitization plans to ensure access to important Institute history.
• Serving as primary contact on the archives email address to field asset inquiries and requests.
• Retrieving assets accurately and promptly, including making minor edits to photo and video assets as needed.
• Maintaining excellent records of all digital asset actions.
• Organizing digital assets and inventory the contents of storage servers, external disk drives, and other media.
• Creating and updating records, use lists from Archives staff and publications to review records and make updates.
• Selecting and preparing assets for photo galleries and creating content for regular social or blog posts.
• Assisting with data collection and entry into the Archives & Collection database.
• Coordinating with the Content team to ensure on-brand and complete photographic coverage of events.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years of related experience, preferably working with digital asset management systems.
• Experience using media technology and systems.
• Knowledge of or hands-on experience processing archival materials.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to perform work accurately by self-auditing in order to avoid mistakes.
• Organizational skills and the ability to self-manage workload.
• Excellent research skills and abilities.
• Interest in film history.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere, Prelude, and Bridge or Lightroom preferred.
• Working knowledge of a variety of media formats and experience working with large quantities of media files preferred.
