Vice President, Finance

Job Description

Summary of Position

The VP Finance will be responsible for oversight and execution of all finance processes for the company including budgeting & forecasting, cash flow & balance sheet management and strategic business planning with executive leadership across the organization. This position partners with the senior management team to integrate finance into the functional teams company wide.

The successful candidate is an independent, analytical, and intellectually curious individual with a strong financial acumen who can confidently present to a wide range of business stakeholders, including Starz senior leadership.

Responsibilities
• Execute on all day-to-day finance, planning and analysis functions for the company

• Responsible for analyzing, monitoring and communicating the company's financial performance and making improvement recommendations to executive leadership

• Lead the preparation of quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and long-term planning for P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet items

• Assist in the development of financial models through integration of data provided by our insights and analytics team into forward looking financial projections

• Responsible for special projects and ad hoc analysis as requested

• Review rate structures and financial guidelines during contract negotiations with outside vendors

• Provide oversight and guidance to finance staff

• Coach and mentor to team members

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

• 10 years of progressive finance experience, including financial management roles with supervisory experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead others, promote a team environment, coach and mentor

• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement even in ambiguous situations

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including financial modeling

• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills

• Strong ability to develop effective policies, procedures and business practices

• Proficient knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project software applications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with senior management

• Knowledge of the entertainment industry

• Previously worked for a public company with working knowledge of SEC reporting

$163,000 - $215,000
