Summary of Position
The Principal Solutions Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-wide IT solutions, focusing on critical technologies such as Microsoft O365, Exchange, Intune, Active Directory, Citrix, identity management (Okta and Microsoft Entra), F5 load balancers, Group Policy (GPO), certificate management, and Tanium. This position requires a deep understanding of both cloud and on-premises environments, with an emphasis on delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions that meet the organization's current and future needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with various business and technology stakeholders to develop technical strategies, ensure high performance, and provide leadership in technology decisions.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT leadership to develop technical roadmaps and align IT architecture with business objectives.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to engineering teams, fostering an environment of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Lead the design and development of enterprise architecture frameworks, ensuring consistency, scalability, and security across IT solutions.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO, NIST).
• Document technical architectures, design patterns, and best practices for use across engineering and operations teams.
• Actively participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring the resilience and availability of critical IT services.
Microsoft O365 & Exchange:
• Architect and design scalable and secure Microsoft O365 and Exchange environments to support organizational communication and collaboration needs.
• Lead migration efforts to O365/Exchange Online, ensuring seamless integration with existing on-premises systems and cloud environments.
• Optimize email security, compliance, and performance, ensuring high availability of email services.
Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Management:
• Design enterprise-wide endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune for mobile device and application management.
• Develop security and compliance policies for mobile and desktop devices, ensuring data protection and seamless user experience.
Active Directory (AD) & Group Policy (GPO):
• Architect and manage complex multi-domain Active Directory environments, ensuring the security, scalability, and efficient management of user identities and access.
• Design and implement Group Policy (GPO) strategies for secure and streamlined system configuration across the organization.
Citrix Virtualization Solutions:
• Architect Citrix environments for both application and desktop virtualization, ensuring optimal performance, user experience, and security.
• Collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to manage Citrix resources for remote work and hybrid environments.
Identity and Access Management (Okta & Microsoft Entra):
• Design and implement identity and access management (IAM) solutions using Okta and Microsoft Entra for secure user provisioning, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Develop strategies for identity lifecycle management, ensuring proper access control and compliance.
F5 Load Balancers:
• Architect F5 load balancing solutions to ensure high availability, security, and performance of enterprise applications and services.
• Continuously monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot load balancer configurations to meet changing business demands.
Certificate Management:
• Oversee the lifecycle management of digital certificates, ensuring secure and uninterrupted communications across internal and external systems.
• Implement best practices for certificate issuance, renewal, and revocation processes.
Tanium for Endpoint Security and Endpoint Management:
• Architect and implement Tanium for comprehensive endpoint management, including vulnerability management, compliance monitoring, and incident response.
• Integrate Tanium with other security tools to enhance overall enterprise security posture.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT architecture and infrastructure design, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies, identity management, and virtualization.
• Expertise in O365, Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Citrix, and associated enterprise technologies.
• Extensive experience with Okta, Microsoft Entra, and identity management solutions (SSO, MFA, IAM).
• In-depth knowledge of F5 load balancers, GPO management, and certificate management.
• Proven experience deploying and managing Tanium for endpoint security and management.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Citrix, Okta, F5) are highly desirable.
