Who are we hiring?
The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic and financial partner for Sphere Entertainment supporting the Sphere Ventures and Technology team located in California. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a role in assisting with budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning. The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Senior Director of FP&A with the day-to-day operations of the departments.
What will you do?
• Assist the team in planning, executing, compiling, and analyzing periodic results, monthly forecasts, the annual budget, and long-term plans.
• Support month-end close processes, including accruals, reclassifications, and prepaid expenses, while investigating variances against the plan and forecast.
• Provide detailed monthly financial results for expense tracking, departmental reporting packages and key financial support schedules
• Gather data and conduct analysis for capital expenditures and work closely with the accounting team to ensure costs are correctly captured based on GAAP requirements
• Collaborate with Accounting to review monthly accruals, reclasses, prepaid expenses as necessary to ensure accurate monthly financial results.
• Develop in-depth analyses for presentations and reporting packages for Senior Leadership
• Identify and implement process efficiencies, such as automated reporting, management dashboards, and PO tracking.
• Utilize financial planning software as necessary to support information requests
• Advise operational teams on financial policies and best practices, including proper requisition coding, CAR form completion, and competitive bid requirements.
• Support ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and presentations for various internal stakeholders and finance teams
• Establish strong relationships and collaborate effectively with operations, business leaders, and corporate partners
What do you need to succeed?
• 3+ years of financial reporting and planning experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
• Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
• Strong financial planning and analysis skills with extensive knowledge in monthly reporting, monthly closes, and capital expenditures
• Experience using Excel, Oracle SmartView, Concur and Coupa applications preferred
• Ability to build strong relationships with all customers (internal and external).
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to trouble shoot and problem solve.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, tailoring the message based on the purpose, audience, and channel.
• Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn't clear.
Pay Range
$75,000 - $110,000 USD
