Job Description
GSN is looking for a dynamic and creative VP of Development who will be an integral part of the team that is responsible for the development of unscripted game show and competition-based content. Responsibilities include all stages of the development process from ideation and conception though deal-making, paper development, and workshopping to pilot and greenlight. This position is one of the activators of GSN's overall studio development strategy. With the increased studio activity, this person will prioritize building relationships with 3rd parties outside of Game Show Network to pitch new content to outside affiliations. The ideal individual should have a love of game, be open to unconventional ideas and be willing to take risks.
Specifically, this position will be responsible for:
• Developing original, unscripted series content for both Game Show Network and Game Show Enterprises Studios. This includes:
• Supervising the internal Development department's generation of ideas, concepts and formats
• Bringing in pitches from 3rd parties (key producers, production companies and creative thinkers)
• Developing original content for programming that meets the changing viewership demands and company goals
• Articulating those goals and GSN/GSES mandates to outside agencies, producers, prod cos and others that are bringing in pitches
• Building and maintaining relationships with outside studios, networks, producers and agents
• Supervising production of unscripted pilots and presentations; review and approve outlines and all cuts
• Providing notes on concepts and outlines for projects in development.
• Overseeing development of pitch materials for internal GSN greenlights and for the studio's pitches to external buyers
• Identifying brands for potential partnerships and IP that can be acquired to turn into new series formats
• Working with BA throughout dela making process with 3rd patsies and freelance formatters, project-specific vendors
• Maintaining a high degree of knowledge of current events and trends and discuss with staff and producers
• Streamlining and disseminating information amongst programming, production, scheduling, marketing, PR and other internal partners
• Keeping GSN development on the forefront of unscripted entertainment, both in ratings and reputation
• Representing the network at industry or professional groups, meetings and events
• Identifying and tracking new talent for on air roles and creative talent for development services and ideation

Education Qualifications:
Required Minimum: BA/BS Degree
Experience Qualifications:
Required Minimum: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7-10 years' experience developing, buying and selling unscripted content including game shows. Candidates should have experience in both long & short-form programming at broadcast, nets, streamers and/or production companies.
Preferred: Experience at a network or production company producing studio game show formats is a PLUS.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $173,000 to $224,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
