Virtual Production Cinematographer

As a Virtual Production Cinematographer, you will be responsible for working with the Sony Innovation Studios team as well as external film production groups to shoot real-time photorealistic scenes using our innovative Virtual Production technology.

You will have overall responsible for the procurement, setup, maintenance and management of the Virtual Production stage hardware, cameras, lenses, camera tracking and led display technology.

You will utilize and integrate the latest Virtual Production tools including Unreal Engine 4 with existing film production techniques to create strong visual cinematic shots.

You will coordinate and manage the delivery of complete sequences, from the initial director blocking, through lighting and principal photography, to final delivery.

You will work closely in collaboration with the SIS team to meet the required scheduling and show deadlines and to deliver high quality virtual production solutions and services.

Responsibilities:
• Virtual Production stage hardware procurement, setup, maintenance and management
• Delivery of complete Virtual Production sequences from initial concept through to final delivery
• Production scheduling, planning and coordination
• Research into the latest stage technology and production techniques

Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a Film Cinematographer
• Experience with Virtual Production including identifying the required equipment to shoot with either green screen or an LED wall/volume
• Experience using real-time camera tracking technology and its integration into Unreal Engine 4
• Detailed knowledge of digital cinema camera technology and cinema lenses
• Experience with film lighting hardware and lighting design
• A strong sense of composition and color to advise on the angles, framing, lighting, and techniques required to create the desired shot atmosphere
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Organized and detail oriented
• Knowledge of the latest advances in the film technology and production techniques
• Bachelor of Arts degree preferred
