Job Description
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Corporation. SPE is looking for a ESG Reporting Senior Specialist to join a team that believes in leaving our world better than we found it and achieving the Sony-wide goal of being Net Zero by 2040. The Senior Specialist will contribute to these efforts by supporting required and voluntary environmental reporting, including carbon emissions and the identification of climate risks. This role will also be responsible for quarterly consolidating of carbon emissions along with additional responsibilities mentioned below.

The candidate will be a self-starter with excellent time management skills who has demonstrated knowledge in the field and the ability to multi-task. The candidate must also be able to handle large quantities of data and partner with individuals around the world to gather the information. This position is based at the SPE corporate offices located in Culver City.

Responsibilities:
• Collect, analyze, and consolidate environmental data including Greenhouse Gas emissions (Scopes 1-3) for SPE and its subsidiaries to help drive ESG strategy.
• Collaborate with business partners in global finance, divisional finance, motion pictures production, television production, distribution and releasing, and other business functions to gather environmental data including Greenhouse Gas emissions data.
• Lead the consolidation of the Greenhouse Gas emissions data including the reconciliation of inconsistencies or gaps with cross-functional data providers.
• Verify Greenhouse Gas 1 & 2 emissions data is supported by evidence and is in compliance with established controls, liaising with internal and external auditors as needed.
• Upload and maintain accuracy of Greenhouse Gas 1 & 2 data into the internal ESG Ledger system and the Sony Group-wide reporting system
• Maintain and revise ESG Ledger master data quarterly to ensure accurate and complete information is represented from various systems / data providers.
• Maintain and support the development of Greenhouse Gas 1 & 2 policy- including up-to-date estimation methodology that aligns with the available data from our operations- ensuring compliance with Sony Group Corporation policies. Develop ideas/recommendations when possible?
• Run management reports to assist with the executive review and sign-off on annual Greenhouse Gas results.
• Act as a key resource serving as initial point of contact for Sony Group's questions on Greenhouse Gas results
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate Greenhouse Gas emissions data collection, analysis, and consolidation processes.
• Assist with the tracking and reporting of general environmental data across the business operation, as needed.
• Maintain Greenhouse Gas Scope 3 inventory management plan and refine reporting process/disclosure.
• Provide expert advice on both general and entertainment-industry-specific standards for scope 3 categorization and reporting requirements.
• Annually, confirm alignment with Sony Group's Scope 3 policy
• Confirm SPE's climate risk scenario analysis procedure maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, update procedure as needed, and assist with the completion of the annual analysis.
• Gather other relevant sustainability metrics for reporting, e.g. site specific ISO 14001 and 45001 programs.
• Identify and implement process improvements across existing environmental reporting efforts (e.g., GHG, ISO, Article 8, Albert) to better efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience and experience with carbon accounting, ISO systems or ESG data
• Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team
• Excellent oral, organizational, and written communication skills
• Proficient with large quantities of data and possess analytical skills
• Interest and skills in problem-solving, creative thinking, and handling a variety of tasks
• Adept in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (Visio and SharePoint are also helpful)
• Experience with GHG accounting and reporting methods

Preferred Qualities
• Knowledge of carbon accounting
• Knowledge of environmental and ESG business disclosure requirements
• Experience working with data and the reporting of metrics
• Experience working in corporate and/or large organization settings

The anticipated base salary for this position is $80,000-$100,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
