THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Nonfiction Team. The Senior Accountant will work out of our Van Nuys office and report to the Corporate Controller. The position will work with and support talented tv producers and their teams. Role serves as key accounting contact for business leaders for forecasting and monthly results. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting and finance aspects for television production divisions. This includes period-end close, reporting and analysis, budgets and reforecasts, and ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports. The selected candidate will be hard-working, independent, and a quick learner.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare divisional financial statements and supporting schedules monthly.
• Provide budget-to-actual and prior year-to-actual analysis with commentary.
• Create annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Liaise with staff and business partners to obtain any needed information.
• Liaise with TV production finance teams to ensure accuracy of data.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including resolution of discrepancies.
• Other duties / special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Public accounting experience preferred; CPA preferred
• 2-5 year of total accounting experience
• Prior entertainment industry experience a plus
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including analyzing and interpreting contracts
• Ability to work independently while also being an active team member
• Ability to liaise effectively and professionally with other functional areas within the organization and with external clients
• Ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven assignments
• Ability to work efficiently and proactively, with excellent attention to detail
• Strong Office and Excel skills (very comfortable with pivots, complex formulas, etc.)
• Experience using SAP accounting software a plus

The anticipated base salary for this position is $98,000.00 - $120,000. This role is overtime eligible and may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
