Assistant/Junior Management Accountant (Mat Cover)

The Role:

Sony Pictures Television - Kids is recruiting for an Accounts assistant/Junior accountant for a maternity cover, expected to be around 12 months. This is a key role that supports the Finance Manager with all aspects of management accounting within the business. The role would suit a candidate with up to two years prior industry experience and is keen to develop their career further within the media industry. This is a hands-on role and the ideal candidate would need to be comfortable across the transactional detail.

What you'll do:
• Assisting with monthly management accounts preparation
• Preparation of JV management accounts pack
• Posting of monthly journals including overhead accruals, prepayments, depreciation, tax and payroll
• Lease schedule maintenance and expense journal
• Fixed asset management including additions and disposals
• Bank reconciliations of all corporate and production accounts
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Balance sheet management and related account reconciliations
• Preparation and submission of UK VAT returns (working with Finance Manager)
• Royalty and participation calculations and related payments (working with Finance Manager)
• GL system management including FX control, period closures and balance sheet revaluation
• Ad hoc management accounting duties as and when required

What you have:
• Ideally 2-3 years relevant experience in a similar accounting role
• Exhibits enthusiasm for a task and is a quick learner
• The ability to work as part of a small team
• Good communication skills
• Highly organised
• Accuracy with a strong attention to detail
• Deliver high quality work against tight deadlines
• Experience within a similar role is advantageous but drive, ambition and capability are key
