As the Sample Licensing/Listening Analyst you will report to the VP of Licensing & BA Admin:
What you'll do:
• Listen to new songs to accurately identify samples, loops, and third-party materials used in SME's recordings across various genres and labels.
• Report identified samples, loops, and third-party materials, providing detailed information on how source materials are used in SME's new recordings.
• Assist in tracking upcoming releases to identify potential clearance issues related to samples and other third-party materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation for sample clearances, including side-artist and sample details.
• Maintain and update databases related to sample clearances, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
• Support the preparation and distribution of clearance status reports to relevant teams, including royalties and CARMA.
• Provide administrative support in coordinating internal and external approvals related to sample clearances.
Who you are:
• Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in music licensing, copyright law, or related roles, preferably with a focus on sample clearance.
• Basic understanding of music licensing, copyright law, and clearance processes.
• Knowledge of music history.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with music industry software and databases.

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
