Job Description
The Business & Legal Affairs department at Provident Entertainment, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, is looking for an experienced Manager, A&R Administration. The primary function of this role is to manage the non-creative aspects of the recording processes, working closely with A&R, Business & Legal Affairs and Finance. The position is responsible for coordinating the recording process from start to finish, including overseeing recording budgets and production deadlines.

What you'll do:
• Administer and manage recording budgets; obtain internal approvals
• Schedule studio time, engineers, equipment rentals, mixing sessions
• Coordinate mastering sessions and order reference discs for delivery and/or digital links of refs
• Organize transfer of tapes/files and materials to/from studios, mixers, etc.
• Collect masters (files, hard drives) and route for verification/archiving
• Interact with A&R and artist management to make sure all recording/mixing/mastering is completed within deadlines; ensure all approved masters are in house and label copy has been confirmed
• Set-up projects in recording cost system including requesting artist codes, project codes, royalty accounts, and product lines
• Obtain artist approval of producer/mixer budgets and deal terms
• Collect all delivery requirements including fully executed agreements, masters, lyrics, credits, etc.
• Process contractual costs including advances and fees (artist, producers, mixers, samples, etc.)
• Issue POs to vendors and pay invoices
• Collect union materials and complete union contracts for recording (AFM/ SAG-AFTRA)
• Update monthly forecast and prepare accrual sheets

Who you are:
• You have at least three (3) years of experience coordinating projects and budgets; experience with recording sessions and/or audio files helpful but not required
• Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Proficiency with computers / Microsoft Office suite
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Must possess an ability to prioritize multiple competing demands
• Good communication skills, ability to process information and instructions
• Ability to follow through with projects in a timely manner
• Organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Must be flexible and patient, as projects and priorities tend to change constantly
• Must be able to interact well with all internal and external contacts, from C-suite executives to interns to artists, and form positive and productive working relationships
