Columbia Records is seeking a Developer, Music Analytics to work under the label's Insights & Analytics team. You will be responsible for applying computer programming and database management skills to power Columbia's analytics and A&R Research processes. You will develop and maintain internal tools to find, analyze, and make recommendations on new talent signings and music marketing opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to support A&R and marketing decisions that have a significant impact throughout the label.

What you'll do:
• Build and maintain internal web interfaces and databases that help the team collect and evaluate data related to new music releases and unsigned artists.
• Discover and implement new data pipelines across the digital music-related landscape. Manage existing data pipelines and add additional sources of music data as needed.
• Create new company-wide and department-wide reports, and enhance existing reports, to present music data in an understandable and thoughtful way.
• Collaborate with multiple departments, including A&R, to efficiently sort through millions of data points to identify interesting trends and patterns.

Who you are:
• You have excellent Python skills (3+ years of experience preferred).
• You have solid database skills in a relational database (i.e. PostgresSQL, MySQL, etc).
• You have a strong knowledge of Python web frameworks (i.e. Django, Flash, FastAPI) and are proficient with version control tools (i.e. Git).
• You have a strong foundation in harnessing front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to elevate the interactivity and visual aesthetics of web applications for both mobile and desktop devices (familiarity with React, Bootstrap, Next.js, D3.js, and Vue.js is a plus).
• You are comfortable building ''extract, transform, load'' (ETL) processes and web scraping services.
• You bring hands-on experience and a genuine passion for crafting engaging web applications that seamlessly blend functionality and user appeal.
• You are a detail-oriented professional that can approach data problems thoughtfully to consider and solve for issues of scaling and accuracy across many disparate data sources.
• You are an excellent communicator who can both collaborate with a team and work independently.
• You are a self-starter who can identify and approach technical needs and issues, and can quickly learn and apply new concepts, principles, and solutions.
• You have advanced skills in at least one of the following areas, and are eager to hone skills in all of these during your time with us: SQL Database Management, Web Development, ETL/Web Scraping, DevOps

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
