Senior Accountant

Job Description

Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking a Senior Accountant in Hunt Valley, MD to provide accounting services to our Corporate entities, broadcast stations, sports networks and other businesses.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare monthly journal entries for corporate, broadcast and sport network entities. The position will be heavily focused on accounting for intercompany transactions, reclasses and settlements.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations utilizing Blackline, our cloud-based automated reconciliation software.
• Assist with various month-end/quarter-end close responsibilities, including but not limited to invoice coding, tracking of project and initiative costs, preparation of various schedules and reports requested by management, and gathering appropriate documentation and analyses for both internal and external audit requests.
• Assist with various tasks related to the Oracle general ledger including chart of account maintenance and cross-validation rules.
• Establish strong working relationships and maintain effective communication with both corporate and station department personnel, particularly Accounting, Broadcast Shared Services, the local and regional business offices, Accounts Payable, and Treasury.
• Complete ad-hoc projects to support the Corporate Accounting team as necessary.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (3+ years of accounting experience in a Corporate setting or public accounting is ideal)
• Working knowledge of the general ledger, financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal controls
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus
