Executive Producer, Project Baltimore

Sinclair's Corporate News Division is seeking an Executive Producer to lead ''Project Baltimore'', our Award-Winning, Corporate-Based, Special Projects Unit which investigates challenges in the local government system. Since its launch in 2017, Project Baltimore has produced more than 700 original reports and has won national investigative reporting awards including IRE, SPJ and Headliner Awards. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of News as well as the Assistant VP of News. DUTIES
• Lead special Sinclair Corporate Investigative Unit – on-site.
• Produce investigative pieces focusing on challenges in the public education system.
• Work with WBFF staff and management to fulfill the larger education project goals.
• Communicate with Sinclair Corp News team on planning, strategy, editorial review.
• Communicate with Sinclair Corp Legal Dept. on editorial review
• Contribute story ideas and help shape editorial direction and consistency of project.
• Demonstrate professional leadership in managing staff members.
• Write copy for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Exhibit knowledge and skills for integrating content with accompanying digital and social platforms.
• Field produce -- with photographers to gather content for projects.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of information research processes.
• Maintain knowledge of key issues in politics and education.
• Manage and professionally develop the talents of the Project Baltimore Team members.
• Execute other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 7+ years' experience in television news, with proven record in investigative and/or long form content. Network, Cable or Large Market experience is preferred.
• Able to travel and manage field logistics & production.
• Prefer person who can cultivate contacts and build resource lists.
• Must have exceptional writing and content analysis skills.
• Must have or attain an excellent understanding of the US educational system and the media's role in holding leaders accountable on behalf of citizens.
• Exhibit a passion for exceptional storytelling.

This is an on-site management position – based in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
