VFX Producer

Job Description

ROLE

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Producer in Feature Film VFX both onset and in post production. They have acquired extensive knowledge of database systems (preferably Filemaker), Excel & Shotgrid (Flow), and will be responsible, with the VFX Supervisor, for planning, implementing and tracking VFX shots for multiple feature film projects.

Proven experience in managing the VFX department, through to implementing live-action and CG based workflows, pipelines and turnarounds is essential for this role. The VFX Producer will manage project budgets, schedules and client priorities effectively under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding and experience on-set shooting and can organize and prioritize on-set crew and tasks critical to an efficient subsequent post-production workflow. Knowledge and understanding of Queensland Film tax incentives is an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Initiate and monitor overall Bid vs Actuals

● Ensure deliverables are determined, adhered to schedule and delivered on time

● Liaise directly with the client to ensure work is progressing on schedule and to client expectations. Maintain weekly internal client status reports

● Schedule and manage all change orders

● Generate payment and key milestone schedules

● Provide regular cost and schedule reports

● Track all turnovers, assets, shots, finals, editorial updates, marketing requests and change orders

● Determine overflow and outsourcing requirements with VFX Supervisor and show Leads, engage vendors, detail outsource briefs and QC reviews

● Scheduling / Resource Management

● Maintain oversight of scheduling according to the scope of VFX work required on the show

● Ensure scheduled targets are being hit; and, if not, troubleshoot and resolve any scheduling conflicts, issues or delays

● Forecast resource requirements with the VFX Supervisor and Post-Production Manager to plan an effective and efficient approach to completing the show within contractually agreed deadlines.
