Job Description
The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Vice President of Revenue, Strategy, and Operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), this Vice President will serve as the Chief of Staff for the CRO and will collaborate with the Sales Leadership team across all platforms to drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and ensure seamless execution of advertising sales efforts. Acting as a strategic thought partner, they will focus on both long- and short-term business objectives, organizing and prioritizing initiatives, promoting transparency, and aligning efforts across the leadership team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Lead the revenue strategic planning process, ensuring the right stakeholders are involved, helping to create and articulate the plan to advance the company's goals.
• Act as a strategic advisor and a bridge between senior leadership and different teams within the organization.
• Strategic planning partner with sales leadership to develop and implement the team's strategic goals; including revenue targets and growth initiatives.
• Manage daily operations to reduce bottlenecks, coordinate initiatives and ensure the sales team can meet targets.
• Facilitate communication between the sales team and other departments (marketing, product, finance) to align efforts on the campaign deliverables and support revenue-generating initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor movements, and client needs, using insights to inform strategy adjustments.
• Provide recommendations to the head of sales on market positioning, sales strategies, and product offerings based on data analysis and feedback.
• Develop and drive revenue plans and activities on large-scale strategic projects, integrating all levels of leaders in the change plan and ensuring employee understanding of change, impact and required actions.
• Serve as the strategic lead for the future of advertising.
• Efficiently synthesize information and prioritize projects working with various groups internally and externally to take C-level business strategy from idea to execution.
• Identify opportunities and implement best practices to streamline sales processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and tools to enhance the effectiveness of the advertising sales team
• Analyze sales data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Work closely with other departments, including marketing, finance and product development to align revenue initiatives with overall business objectives.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of the advertising sales department. Monitor progress against goals and objectives and provide regular reporting to the Sales Leadership team.
• Establish category expertise to help inform the advertising sales strategy for local and national sales teams.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
• MBA strongly preferred
• Generally, 10+ years of experience in related field preferred
• Ability to travel 25-40%
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Ability to think with long term vision
• Proven experience in ad sales operations, sales strategy, preferably in the advertising or media industry
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
• High understanding of confidentiality and urgency, ability to work at very fast pace
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and lead projects from conception to implementation
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software
