As part of the legal team reporting to the Head of APAC Legal, you will provide outstanding legal advice to help Riot get to the next level. You will work closely with colleagues across multiple functions on a wide range of matters, including corporate, commercial, regulatory, IP, employment matters, and other strategic transactions, with the opportunity to grow and evolve depending on your interests and the business's needs. You will have a meaningful role on the APAC legal team and the opportunity to develop professionally in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• You will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including vendor, sponsorship, licensing and publishing agreements and our IT/IP arrangements
• You will provide legal expertise to internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal subjects including corporate, commercial, regulatory, IP and employment matters
• You will collaborate with external legal counsel on specific matters ranging from litigation to expert advice requests
• You will be involved in corporate secretary matters and will collaborate with external service providers to ensure reports or filings are submitted in a timley fashion
• You will contribute to the development of the overall legal function, including developing or improving current legal processes and conducting and planning legal education for various stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
• You have a law degree from a recognized university or law school and are admitted to practice in a jurisdiction within the APAC region
• You have three (3) to five (5) years of PQE in reputable law firms or MNCs and are comfortable working on corporate transactions, multiple commercial contracts, employment law issues, corporate governance matters, eSports legal questions, tech licensing agreements, etc
• You have the adaptive capacity to practice law in the fast-changing world of games and esports
• You are fully bilingual; you can draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts and complex legal concepts in English and a language spoken in the APAC region (e.g., Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Bahasa, Thai or Vietnamese)
