As we continue to expand our amazing live service capabilities at Respawn, the documentation infrastructure to support this transformation is increasingly challenging to manage, due to the complexities of scale.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our Documentation Team and make it easy for our mobile game development teams to understand our Apex Legends backend system tools and services.

You will work with a global team of engineers, developers, designers, and game producers who are industry-recognized experts in their field, to create informational efficiencies that will assist them in building & maintaining the Apex Legends game systems.

What You'll do...
• Learn about new processes, tools, and professional talents.
• Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information to achieve the greatest reader comprehension, is a must.
• Follow verbal directions explicitly, and produce documentation in a quick turn-around environment.
• Meet virtually & brainstorm with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to derive improvements of older documentation.
• Independently gather information from SMEs who may have minimal documentation experience, and translate that into new documentation on highly specialized topics that will be read by an audience with a diverse skillset.
• Review and/or copyedit content developed by SMEs.
• Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation.
• Create, or work with designers and analysts to create, attractive and informative Gliffy flow diagrams, charts, and other visual aids, to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
• Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams of both producers, programmers, artists, and support staff, to plan, develop, and produce high-quality documentation products in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Follow verbal directions explicitly, and produce documentation in a quick turn-around environment.
• Work simultaneously on multiple projects as assigned, and independently setting priorities to meet changing deadlines and scope-of-work definitions.
• Perform proofreading of general-audience, administrative, technical, and artistic instructions, and produce mechanical and substantive edits, correcting grammar, technical usage, content, and organizational problems to meet Respawn Documentation Standards and Style Guide Requirements.
• Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
• Create and use templates and style sheets to ensure product consistency and quality.
• Record page inventories for vetting and archival procedures as assigned.
• Ensures projects adhere to schedules and deadlines.

You will have…
• Bachelor's Degree
• Degree Major/Minor in a relevant field, such as English, Literature, Communications, and/or Writing a definite plus.
• Technical Writing – 5+ years
• Experience writing for web services and/or software products – 3-5 years
• Confluence CMS expertise – 5+ years
• Adobe Photoshop expertise – 5+ years
• Jira experience – 1-3 years
• Prior experience in Entertainment, Mobile Applications, and/or Gaming Industry
• Experience working in Agile environment – writing User Stories, serving as Scrum Master, documenting Sprints, and creating Burn-up and Burn-Down charts, etc.s.

Extras Desired
• Experience authoring Confluence Macros
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Programming and/or scripting experience (C#, Python, MEL)
• Experience with 3D VFX Software
• Experience with video editing
• Experience developing Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) / Gliffy
• Jira Certification
• Experience in Training/Education

Additional Info
• 6-month Fully Remote Contract with an opportunity to convert to Full-time Permanent Staff thereafter.
