We're looking for an experienced Lead Technical Artist for Pipeline development to join the Apex Legends team. You will work closely with the creative and engineering teams across many departments to identify and build tools that enabled the team to iterate quickly and build high quality assets.

We as a studio value giving our team creative ownership. As a leader you will be looking for where you can make big impacts with your team. It is important to know that we move swiftly as we are a live service game.

As a Lead, you will manage a team of technical artists. You will be triaging, scheduling, mentoring, and building pipeline tools. The pipelines you will be involved in are wide ranging within the DCC pipelines and internal engine tools. Some examples of departments you team would work with are the animation, environment, props, and vfx teams.

Responsibilities
• Lead a team of tech artists focused on pipeline and tools.
• Own and maintain the DCC pipelines that the creative team utilizes.
• Support your team through scheduling, 1 on 1s, and mentoring.
• Collaborate with Artists, Animators, Coders, & Designers to implement tools.
• Establish and maintain best practices, quality bar, pipelines, and processes for the department.
• Serve as an advocate for the department's goals, needs, and desires. Remove roadblocks, raise red flags, etc.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure good communication and solid working relationships between departments.
• Inspire the entire department to constantly raise the quality bar, develop solutions, and work with all other connected departments.
• Practice and encourage good programming practices. Actively participate in code reviews, write clean and readable code, maintain documentation, ect.

Qualifications
• 6+ years professional experience.
• Experience shipping a project as a team lead.
• Expert knowledge of Python programming.
• Expert knowledge Maya API and Qt.
• Portfolio that demonstrates relevant tech art experience in games (tools, pipelines, etc.)
• Demonstrable strong understanding of relevant tools and technology.
• Strong understanding of game engines and art integration pipelines and how to optimize them.
• Knowledge of C# or C++ is a big plus.
• Strong Math skills.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $131,600 - $213,300
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $131,600 - $213,300
• Jersey City, NJ:
º $154,800 - $213,300
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $131,600 - $179,600
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $131,600 - $195,200

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
