Role x You :
Refinery29 is seeking a creative, data-driven candidate to join our social media team as a Social Editor. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of Instagram, Facebook & Pinterest on all their features, experience collaborating with the community, and a desire to be on the cutting edge of audience development. Superior organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are a must. This role will report to the Senior Social Editor.

In the short term…
• Write platform aligned copy to optimize content for the R29 audience
After 6 months in this role...
• Responsibility for daily content scheduling across platforms daily, source and compile imagery, and draft captions (primarily Instagram, Pinterest & Facebook)
And after a year…
• Community management across all platforms, maintaining R29's tone of voice and aligning to our mission
Responsibilities:
• Support & coordinate the design, production and deployment of social first and projects
• Ideate around new tools (Stories, Live, TikTok, Reels etc.) and test in innovative ways
• Support and develop relationships with influencers and strategic partners, assist in community outreach
You have these:
• Bachelor's Degree in social media, journalism, marketing & communications or related field or commensurate experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience writer in a newsroom or digital media/content company
• A native understanding of social media
• An understanding of video and platform optimization
• A love and an eye for Refinery29's aesthetic is a must!
• Intimate knowledge of existing and emerging social media platforms
• Strong copywriting and communication skills, as well as an eye for design & voice, and an instinct for what is trending in the social realm
We'd love if you also have these:
• Proven knowledge or experience in digital strategy or social marketing a plus
• Willing to shoot face to camera videos and a confident content creator is a bonus!
• Extremely organized with attention to detail
• Proactive and able to work independently while remaining an excellent collaborator
• Quick-thinking, flexible, adaptable
