PMC: VP, Strategic Partnerships (LA or NYC)
Penske Media Corporation, whose award-winning content across more than 24 media brands attracts a passionate monthly audience of more than 310 million, is looking for a talented and results-oriented VP, Strategic Partnerships to join our Corporate Business Development & Strategy team. This individual will be tasked with revenue generation and deal making across many industries and deal types. This highly visible role will work collaboratively with stakeholders across digital, events, streaming/TV, International, IP/brand extension and more.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Responsibilities:
• Leverage deep relationships to source, negotiate and execute new partnerships and business ventures for PMC. Deals will broadly extend across: Newco, JV, experiential, AI, licensing, distribution, social, streaming, e-commerce and other areas that drive significant revenue for the company
• Actively research, prospect and close new digital and non-digital revenue-generating partnerships. Annual KPIs for this role will be booked revenue and deal pipeline
• Creatively ideate and test new revenue models that continue to put PMC at the forefront of innovation
• Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to identify new robust opportunities for growth
• Service PMC O&O businesses with deal-making and ink portfolio-wide deals to meet corporate objectives
• Lead partner relationships with key social, content and distribution platforms
• Renegotiate and extend existing content licensing deals and other Biz Dev partnerships when needed
Requirements:
• 10+ years' biz dev experience with at least 5+ years' experience in strategic partnerships at a Media/Entertainment company
• Expertise across numerous industries and business disciplines is a must. Candidates with both digital and non-digital experience strongly preferred
• Possesses strong negotiation skills and is adept at developing leads, pitching partnership concepts, and conducting diligence
• Proven success in developing revenue streams from owned IP across various industries
• Extensive experience building and executing innovative, non-advertising partner programs that drive recurring revenue
• Deep understanding of Media and Entertainment industry revenue models with a proven track record of driving deals
• Sophisticated understanding of contract review including the ability to expertly review/redline contracts and work closely with Legal to close deals
• Demonstrated track record of leading and negotiating complex deals on pace while managing competing priorities; possesses extraordinary prioritization skills with attention to detail
• Extensive experience in managing and optimizing partnerships through deal execution and beyond
• An expert communicator with a proactive, extroverted demeanor and a strong sense of urgency
• Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
Typical wage range: $220k - $250k + bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
