Job Description
Sportico is hiring a Digital Media Editor to join the dynamic publishing startup that covers sports business with the highest quality editorial content in the industry. The Digital Media Editor will be responsible for producing / editing original video content to be used for general social media promotion of Sportico's editorial content, podcasts, and video series. A major part of the role will be constant communication with the editorial staff to promote daily editorial content in an easily digestible format for social media, while driving readers to sportico.com to increase page views and subscriptions. The Digital Media Editor will also work closely with the sales and marketing team to help with promotion of Sportico's live events and the content that is captured from these events. We are looking for someone with knowledge of sports and the sports business industry who has their finger on the pulse of what content sports fans and sports business professionals are looking for and to amplify the social reach of Sportico's content.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the execution of all social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, plus emerging platforms)
• Lead new strategies to grow social media following for Sportico both within the industry and to the broader community of sports fans Collaborate closely with Sportico editorial, sales and marketing teams
• Write, edit, and schedule the posting of content adhering to the highest journalistic standards
• Monitor daily (if not hourly) the performance of all social posts Guide staff members on social-media best practices to increase their individual social presence
• Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate social media campaigns with broader marketing strategies and campaigns.
• Stay informed on industry trends, algorithm changes, and new social media tools to optimize our strategies and stay ahead of the competition.
• Work closely with content creators, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive brand messaging and visual consistency.

Requirements:
• Digital publishing and social media management and strategy (3+ years)
• Good judgment as to what drives audience engagement in sports business
• Ability to present social strategies and business results to senior leadership
• Possess a deep understanding of analytics and data (knowledge of Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, SocialFlow and similar programming tools)
• Exceptional knowledge of sports, the sports business industry, sports fandom
• Exceptional video editing skills
• Willingness to be on camera and/or do voice over
• Conduct interviews with athletes/executives with collaboration of the editorial staff

Strongly Desired:
• Passion for social media and audience acquisition
• Proven ability to grow a loyal following on social media
• Willingness to monitor sports and sports business social media outside of office hours
• Knowledge of all major sports events / general sports calendar

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Typical wage range: $71k - $81k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
