Job Description
The Real Estate Senior Accountant will support the accounting team in maintaining the books and records of the real estate business unit. The ideal candidate must possess a goal-oriented approach and a dynamic personality as this position interacts with business teams across the organization. The senior accountant will assist with daily accounts payable, payment processing, account reconciliations, journal entries, variance reporting, and other ad hoc requests as provided by management. This role can be based in NYC or Miami, and will report to the Senior Director, Real Estate Finance.
Typical tasks may include (but are not limited to):
• Manage high volume full cycle of ''procure to pay''
• Ensure all invoices have proper backup, purchase orders, coding, and approvals before processing
• Process payment including international and multi-currency invoices by means of weekly check-runs, bank payments, ACH, Wires and Foreign Exchange within deadlines
• Process vendor credits
• Track recurring invoices and follow-up with vendors and employees to ensure they are received in time for month-end close
• Prepare or review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations across different real estate related financial statement areas
• Resolve any outstanding payment issues
• Enter month-end journal entries
• Reconcile Credit Card monthly statements
• Analyze monthly P&L variances and provide meaningful reporting to management on an ongoing basis
• Contribute to various ad hoc projects, with a focus on close optimization, systems, and processes
• Proactively identify and implement process improvements
• Establish and document policies, procedures and best practices across the department.
• Perform special projects and any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of 4-6 years relevant accounts payable accounting experience
• Construction development experience is a plus
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA and/or Public Accounting experience is a plus
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting journal entries, accounting coding, and fixed assets
• Previous experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Concur, Procore) is a plus
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adhere and meet internal and external deadlines

Typical wage range: $95k - $110k + annual discretionary bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
