About our Team

The Video Pipeline team partners closely with Video Engineering to bring new products, features, and technologies to Pluto TV. We are passionate about reliability, scalability of performance of streaming media. Our vision is to create world class viewing experiences by preparing, delivering and protecting Pluto TV video.
Overview & Responsibilities
• Work with the Sr. Director of Product, Content Systems on the strategic vision, roadmap and delivery of products and features for Pluto TV's video pipeline, which includes transcoding, packaging, playout, QoE, digital rights management, and content protection.
• Lead a team of experienced product managers responsible for the Pluto TV video pipeline.
• This position will manage a minimum of two direct reports with future growth opportunities
• Develop, cultivate and manage relationships with key vendors and partners in the streaming industry
• Assist in defining product vision, road-map and growth opportunities
• Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
• Collaborate with the Operations, Engineering and Product Architecture teams to build knowledge of existing video pipeline, understand stakeholder needs, and translate those needs into a long-term roadmap.
• Build and maintain a strong working relationship with Dev Ops, Content Operations, and Engineering to ensure that they have all the information they need to successfully complete initiatives.
• When necessary, engage in scrum team activities (grooming, planning, standups, story writing, and prioritization).
• Evangelize the Video Pipeline product roadmap across the Pluto TV and Paramount Streaming organizations
• Work to meet agreed upon time frames / target dates with the development teams and PMO partners.

Basic Qualifications
• 7-10+ years of experience in product management for software development, with demonstrated competence in prioritizing against business value and development effort.
• 3-5 years of experience leading and growing a team of direct reports.
• Deep understanding with complex video streaming supply chain technologies; engineering experience a plus.
• Experience in a technical product role, preferably with streaming media industry experience.
• Strong working knowledge of ABR streaming protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH), HTML5 and native video players, Content Delivery Networks, Digital Rights Management and QoE platforms and tooling.
• Strong sense of standard methodologies for product management and extensive experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Additional Qualifications:
• Strong curiosity about and understanding of the streaming media landscape.
• Ability to form valuable relationships with people across functional groups in order to facilitate effective product development.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
• A good working understanding of the SAFE Agile Framework.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $155,000.00 - 185,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
