Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer develop the solution to secure the Microsoft Windows® PC based software for the PlayStation® . You will provide strong technical leadership in designing and developing highly secure and performant PC based software and tampering detection software.
Our team is innovating and crafting the next generation of gaming experiences on PlayStation! You will work alongside partners in engineering, product, design, and research to build tools and technologies that keep our players safe.

Role Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain Windows platform based SDK
• Collaborate with Machine Learning/AI team to design and implement server based tampering detection solution.
• Analyze threat vectors, design a solution to secure the product, and implement the solution.
• Review proposed architectures for various PlayStation Network features. Guide and collaborate with the feature teams to secure the solutions.
• Collaborate with product management team to define the roadmap
• Produce excellent, detailed design and development documentation
• Work with team members to deliver features on time, respond to evolving requirements, and strategic shifts in direction
• Develop software using Agile/Scrum software development methodology
• Mentor and develop team members

Qualifications
• 10+ years of proven programming experience in C/C++ (or equivalent client development) developing Win32/64 Apps, Java, Restful Webservices, SDK
• Experience with developing API and services utilizing various AWS services
• Experience leading the development of highly scalable distributed systems with event driven architecture
• Experience with object-oriented design and design patterns
• Passionate about writing quality and well architected code
• Experience in building high-performance and secure Windows applications or SDK.
• Strong understanding of engineering standard methodologies – requirement gathering and analysis, design and develop secure and scalable code with unit tests, participate in code reviews and documentation, experience with multiple technology stacks.
• Ability to balance periodic on-call duty, and defensive engineering to minimize impact
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with helping team members in professional development
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master's degree a plus.

Helpful but not required
• Experience with Game development or Game Engine development is a huge plus
• Experience with Windows/PC Security software development a plus
• Experience with CICD pipeline development a plus

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
