The Role:

Come join our team as a Senior VFX Artist! As part of our team, you'll have pivotal impact in shaping our game visual effects, and will play a key role in ushering in the next generation of action games on mobile.

You'll work closely with your fellow artists, and will be responsible for building beautiful VFX assets that our players will love.

This role can be based in Berlin or Helsinki.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement high-quality visual effects for mobile games using Unreal Engine 5
• Create VFX assets from concept to optimized game asset following the artistic vision and the technical- and gameplay mechanic requirements
• Create optimized materials and shaders using Unreal Engine 5
• Collaborate with the technical artist, other artists, game designers and programmers
• Collaborate with the technical department to ensure seamless functionality across different devices.
• Plan, execute and maintain a streamlined VFX asset production pipeline
• Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and techniques in VFX and Unreal Engine development to continuously improve our visual effects pipeline
• Offer and receive feedback and help support professional and open creative communication
• Brief, guide and review work by outsourced artists
• Mentor and supervise other artists in your team

Required Skills
• 8+ years of experience in creating particle visual effects in game development
• Experience in creating materials and shaders in a game engine
• Strong artistic understanding of shape, composition and color
• Portfolio examples of your beautiful VFX work that showcases your artistic eye and technical skills
• Strong expertise in creating optimized VFX assets
• Excited to work within a stylised art style
• Strong proficiency in 3D and 2D content creation tools of your choice
• Strong technical understanding of game engines and awareness of performance and optimization
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced game production
• A passion for gaming and a strong desire to create memorable experiences for players

Desirable Skills
• Experience in creating VFX in Unreal Engine 5
• Experience in mobile game development
• Traditional art skills and passion for art in general
• Deeper interest in architecture and nature as a visual inspiration
