We are looking for a Senior Technical Animator for our next big game!

THE JOB

As the Senior Technical Animator of the talented and passionate Animation team behind RETURNAL you will work closely with a team of Animators, Programmers and Designers to help drive the next evolution of Housemarque games.

It will be your role to ensure the animation systems provide the best workflow for our team and best results in our games, facilitate professional growth among the Animation team, and champion the artistic and technical vision of the project.

What will your day-to-day look like?
• Evaluating 3D animation systems to determine how to provide the best workflow for our team and best results in our games
• Building and maintaining core 3D animation systems
• Working with Animators and Gameplay Programmers to help them deliver game characters at the highest visual quality
• Sharing expertise with other members of the team

What will help you to be successful in this role?
• 5+ years of game development experience
• Some programming knowledge (C++, Python, etc.)
• Problem solving mindset
• At least one shipped game where you had significant responsibility for animation systems
• An eye for animation visual quality
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• A proactive interest in animation technology and state-of-the-art tools and methods
• Knowledge of Maya-side of animations
• Fluent written and verbal English skills
• Passion in video games

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Helsinki, Finland.
