Job Description
This role is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of the IT teams supporting multiple studios. Ensure that IT services, infrastructure, and support functions align with the studio's business needs and broader corporate IT strategy. This role will drive the evolution of Studio IT, balancing operational excellence with future-focused technology initiatives that enable creative and technical teams to thrive!

The IT Director will be a key strategic partner to studio leadership, advocating for technology investments, optimizing IT service delivery, and ensuring seamless integration with central IT teams at SIE. This position requires a visionary leader with extensive technical knowledge, outstanding leadership skills, and the ability to influence IT strategy across multiple studios! The IT Director works closely with other peer Studio IT Directors, Central IT teams, and studio leadership to align IT services, share standard methodologies, and drive technology initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to multiple Studio IT teams, fostering a high-performance culture of innovation, efficiency, and service excellence.
• Advocate for studio-specific IT needs while ensuring alignment with Central IT policies, governance, risk management, and security standards.
• Partner with Central IT and studio leadership to integrate enterprise IT services (e.g., identity management, security, networking, collaboration tools) while supporting studio development workflows and production pipelines.
• Lead IT investment planning, including budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management across multiple studio locations.
• Lead all aspects of Studio IT service delivery, ensuring operational efficiency, scalability, and a high-quality end-user experience.
• Ensure teams are structured to support game development needs, including high-performance computing, asset storage, and distributed collaboration.
• Drive standardization and standard processes across studios while maintaining flexibility to meet unique technical and creative requirements.
• Champion cybersecurity and data protection initiatives in collaboration with InfoSec and studio development teams, ensuring compliance without limiting agility.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or 15 years progressive experience
• 10+ years of IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the Director level being responsible for multiple teams and IT functions.
• Experience in leading IT in gaming, entertainment, or digital media industries, with an understanding of development workflows and infrastructure needs.
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing IT strategy across multiple business units, while ensuring alignment with IT and InfoSec policies.
• Deep expertise in IT operations, infrastructure planning, cloud services, and enterprise IT service management (ITSM).
• Demonstrated success in leading multi-site IT teams, managing distributed IT functions, and aligning teams toward common goals.
• Experience managing large-scale IT budgets, vendor negotiations, and capital expenditure planning.
• Strong partnering skills with the ability to communicate technical strategy to executive leadership and studio teams.

Desired Experience & Attributes:
• Experience working with game development studios, VFX studios, or similar creative environments is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing, render farms, asset management systems, and cloud-based game development pipelines.
• Strong project leadership experience, with the ability to drive large-scale IT initiatives across multiple teams.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
