As we continue to invest in product, service and technology innovation, we are looking for an ambitious and commercial mind to join our Direct-to-Consumer Commercial Development team, to drive growth, validate new opportunities, and maximize ROI from new initiatives. As the Commercial Development Manager , you will be at the heart of shaping and accelerating our growth in digital software sales and physical product sales for the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct businesses.
You will leverage customer data, market analysis and insights, and partner with strategists to identify and validate new commercial opportunities, customer acquisition strategies, business models and propositions. You will work cross-functionally to identify and incubate growth ideas, experiment to validate concepts, build business cases, support how we position initiatives internally, and support how we learn from new initiatives to scale successfully.
What you'll be doing:
• Identify and develop new opportunities for commercial growth for the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct businesses.
• Conduct market research and data analysis to assess industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally with analytics, finance, marketing, product, and engineering teams to align on opportunities, validate concepts and achieve buy-in for program development and execution.
• Support key areas of growth such as pricing optimization and commercial experimentation to help the direct-to-consumer teams learn at pace.
• Learn with the team how to craft compelling business cases for new initiatives that demonstrate ROI, position investments effectively within the company, and measure growth accurately and consistently.
• Balance short-term revenue-driving opportunities with long-term strategic growth initiatives to maximise customer lifetime value.
• Navigate how we deliver growth across transaction-based and subscription-based business models, pay-to-play and free-to-play content, as well as digital and physical product offerings.
• Support with the visual presentation and narrative behind our commercial performance and growth plans internally to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
What we're looking for:
• Commercial acumen – you can understand business performance trends, and articulate where revenue maximisation opportunities may be found.
• Highly analytical – you have experience in data analytics, market research, financial or commercial forecasting.
• Development experience – you have enabled the delivery of growth in a commercial, business development, strategy, marketing or finance role within a digital-first business.
• Proactive – you use initiative to find opportunities and forge a path to success, balancing quick wins and business realities with long-term value creation.
• Customer-focused – you think through the lens of the customer for all growth opportunities, understanding their needs and wants, to grow customer satisfaction alongside lifetime value.
• Visual presenter – you have experience in developing and presenting internal presentations to convey learnings and opportunities to different internal stakeholders.
• Natural collaborator – you are able to build relationships and gain support across cross-functional teams.
• You have relevant experience in digital media, ecommerce, digital marketing, subscriptions, retail, technology, or a consulting background.
• You are proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and a keen user of enterprise analytics solutions.
• You have a passion for video gaming, with a rich understanding of content, community, and competitive market dynamics.
