Unreal Engine Operator & Instructor

Job Description

Pixomondo is currently hiring an Unreal Engine Operator to operate content on LED screens and ensure immersive environments integrate seamlessly on our Virtual Production stage. The ideal candidate will work in both PXO's VP Academy and Clara Teams, possess strong teaching skills to train students, and be open to travelling to various locations as needed.

Key responsibilities include:
• Setting up and configuring Unreal Engine to meet the requirements of the Virtual Production projects.
• Managing and optimizing the performance of Unreal to ensure smooth playback and high-quality visuals for the LED walls.
• Collaborating with the VP Supervisor, other operators, technicians, and crew to achieve the desired look and feel of the virtual elements on the stage.
• Operating the controls and interfaces of Unreal during productions, to manipulate virtual elements in real-time.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions to ensure uninterrupted operation of Unreal.
• Staying up to date with the latest developments and best practices in real-time rendering technology to enhance the quality and efficiency of Virtual Production workflows.
• Develop and conduct training programs for students on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Unreal Engine.
• Mentor and guide students, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
• Travel to various locations as needed.

Requirements:
• Mastery of Unreal Engine along with blueprint scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Virtual Production tools, such as cameras, motion capture systems, and real-time compositing software.
• Understanding of rendering techniques, lighting, shading, and texturing.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues swiftly and implement effective solutions.
• Effective communication and teamwork with Virtual Production Supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring seamless integration of virtual elements within production.
• Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and techniques in the rapidly evolving world of Virtual Production.
• Exceptional teaching skills, with experience in developing and conducting training programs.
• Strong mentoring abilities to guide and support students and team members.
• Willingness to travel as required by production schedules.
