We're currently looking for a CG Supervisor located in Germany. The CG Supervisor is will be responsible for all 3D content, interpreting the creative aims of the Director/VFX Supervisors and translating them into a working pipeline within available time & budget. With the technology teams, the CG Supervisor establishes and implements an end-to-end workflow for your show, ensuring quality and efficiency problem solving technical issues to production. Strong leadership is required to make sure there is excellent communication occurs at all times between artists, supervisors and production.
Requirements:
• Previous Experience as a CG Supervisor working directly with VFX and Compositing Supervisors on feature and episodic VFX shows.
• Thorough understanding of the VFX especially the CG pipeline
• Experience managing and supervising a team of 3D artists
• Advanced experience in Maya and Houdini and the overall VFX pipeline….
• Advanced understanding of Color pipeline and client deliverables
• Excellent technical skills and communication skills
• Excellent team leading skills
• Deep understanding of the needs and demands of a production driven environment
• Knowledge of Maya, Arnold, Houdini, Z-Brush and Nuke
Responsibilities
• Leads and manages high profile and complex VFX projects in tight cooperation with production & supervision
• Works closely together with Producer, VFX Supervisor and Compositing Supervisor to deliver to creative expectations, deadline and budget
• Plan and optimize workflows to meet project requirements and client needs
• Supports VFX Supervisor together with Compositing supervisor during bidding and production to define production methodologies and creative approaches
• Manages and mentors CG artists on VFX projects, and co-ordinates their VFX output and ensures high levels of quality control, advises on their technique and provides feedback on current work.
• Flags any scheduling or casting concerns in a timely manner and works closely with the Production Manager and Producer to make sure the show is sufficiently cast
• Assesses the work of artists and gives constructive feedback
• Liaises with Pipeline team on a regular basis to make sure the show needs are met and any pipeline issues are resolved quickly
• Escalates technical issues impacting artist experience or efficiency to Head of CG
• Works closely with the Head of CG and Lead artists to research, develop and implement new technology and creative ideas.
