Rights Administrator, Subsidiary Rights, Accounting, Penguin Random House (Open to Remote)

Reporting to the Director, the administrator will support the Subsidiary Rights Accounting team.
Performing functions primarily related to the management and organization of subsidiary rights and permission receivable-related records, the Administrator will partner closely with the Subrights Contracts team, Subsidiary Rights, Legal, Editorial, and the larger Rights Accounting team in executing the payment of monies owed from the sale of ancillary rights to foreign and domestic stakeholders.

The administrator must have strong analytical skills and an interest in mastering new applications, communicates clearly, is comfortable asking for help when needed, and wants to be an active participant on a collaborative team. If you can handle the details of immediately urgent tasks but also remember to step back, consider the big picture, and adjust your strategy when needed, you'll assume greater responsibilities over time.

The Role:
• Invoicing of subsidiary rights advance and royalty payments
• Invoicing and processing of permission fees
• Management and organization of tax documents and royalty statements
• Work closely with Rights Accountants and Permission Administrators on all contract monies owed/paid issues
• Communicating with licensees, sub-agents and other external partners
• Create/Maintain contact data for licensee's royalty departments
• Send international licensees proper US tax forms
• Research and process foreign tax forms
• Communicating with internal partners such as Subsidiary Rights Contract managers, Subsidiary Rights Licensing Managers, Permission Administrators, PRH corporate tax group.
• Research unidentified monies received for proper routing within PRH
• Keep record of current tax rates by country
• Maintaining an up-to-date set of standard operating procedures for your tasks
• Flexibility to provide coverage for other tasks as needed
The Essentials:
• A strong history in an accounting/finance/clerical -related field is a plus, but not a requirement to success in this role
• Ability to problem solve, manage time, act independently, and be resourceful
• Experience in using SAP systems a plus (training available)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe
The salary for this position is $53,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
