The marketing team at One World is seeking a Marketing Associate to report to the Director of Marketing. The position provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative and hands-on department, and work with some the most talented writers, from National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winners to award-winning humanitarians and groundbreaking activists. The mission of One World is to provide a home for authors-novelists, essayists, memoirists, poets, journalists, thinkers, activists, and creative artists unconstrained by genre-who seek to challenge the status quo, subvert dominant narratives, and give us new language to understand our past, present, and future.

You, as the Marketing Associate, will be bringing our One World publications to the largest possible readership through innovative marketing campaigns, ensuring that those people who might buy our books are connected to their next read.

Responsibilities:
• Assist Marketing Director with day-to-day administrative and scheduling needs
• Create, develop, and execute cohesive and innovative marketing campaigns
• Contribute content to e-newsletters, websites and social networking vehicles used to promote titles/authors
• Assist One World marketing with specific title campaigns and projects, including digital outreach, author platform building, consumer research projects, and audience development
• Collaborate with all in-house departments (publicity, editorial, sales, production, design, etc.)
• Timely follow-up and communication skills with the One World marketing team, authors, agents and other departments
• Perform general administrative duties including mailings, consumer sentiment reports, influencer outreach, etc.
• Research trends and competition and identify potential new audiences and opportunities to promote One World books.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in book publishing or similar role
• Interest in working on a wide variety of nonfiction, fiction, and poetry books
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to apply organizational methods and strategies to meet deadlines and manage multiple active projects at once in a fast-paced and details-focused environment
• Ability to work independently in a proactive manner and collaborate with the team when needed
• Proficiency as well as strong interest in using social media platforms as a marketing tool
• Proficiency in creative problem solving and decision making
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and an avid interest and ability to learn new applications
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe, and basic html skills are a plus
