The Penguin Random House Information Technology Computer Operations group is currently seeking applicants for: Command Center Analyst
Position Responsibilities
• Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting various platform environments to include midrange Console Management, Network, server hardware, warehouse systems, cloud platform and backup/restore strategies.
• Primary performance goals: Awareness, Communications, and Coordination.
• This position will involve training under the direction of skilled Command Center Operators while interfacing with Technical Support Groups, internal user communities and Management.
• Facilitate technical escalations and participate/document troubleshooting conferences.
• After hours ''IT Service Desk'' services to internal users with problems that may occur with network, telecommunication, and hardware/software applications.
Job requirements:
• Very good overall work and attendance record
• High school diploma or equivalent required and combination of work experience. AA degree in data processing/network administration preferred.
• 1 –2 years' experience in Command Center/ Help Desk environment a plus.
• Working knowledge of various hardware platforms, operating systems and PC Software
• Ability to learn various systems and monitoring tools – including SolarWinds, Pingdom, DataDog, UC4, etc.
• Ability to gain knowledge of Windows and Unix Operating Systems
• Aptitude to gain knowledge of automated job scheduling concepts and methodologies
• Understanding of System Backup and Recovery methods and practices
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills/ Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and document.
• Detailed oriented/ must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evening, overnight and weekend hours and flexible enough to fill in for vacancies on other shifts in an emergency.
• Ability to work independently on single Operator shifts
• Professional attitude and professional communication skills a must.
We are actively recruiting to fill positions on the following shift:
• Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 12am-10am (3rd shift/weekend)
*If no adjustments for other staff off.
Starting Salary: $57k + 15% shift differential + Holiday overtime
