With the NBA (back) on NBC and Peacock, the Media Strategy & Planning team is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for the NBA and Entertainment. The Director, Media Strategy & Planning partners with the VP on off-air paid media projects primarily related to the NBA with opportunities to expand into NBC Sports and NBC Entertainment/Peacock. The Director will work on developing and stewarding media strategy and plans. They will also assist in directing and motivating all agency partners and representing the NBCU priorities to the vendor community.

Responsibilities:
• Support the VP, Media Strategy & Planning in the development of sound, insightful, and unique media strategies and plans for all off-air supported shows
• Assist in the development of analysis necessary to rationalize and explain key media recommendations and decisions
• Drive analytics and campaign reporting both in-house and with the agency to contribute to building fact-based media strategies and derive optimizations in campaign and for future planning
• Oversee the delivery of all creative materials between NBCU production groups, external agency buyers/traffic departments, and media vendors
• Develop presentations for key stakeholders, both internal at NBCU and external leagues/studios
• Partner with counterparts across the organization to ensure media plans align to overall campaign strategy, represent the media strategy in internal meetings, and collaborate on larger cross-functional initiatives and overall campaign rollout
• Assist in managing all financial reporting summaries and documents associated with media budgets
• Lead the day-to-day activities of all agency partners
• Manage the fulfillment of information requests across all agency partners.
• Evaluate programs and tactics across all departments and provide a media ''value''
• Council media vendors and media companies on potential advertising opportunities
• Meet with representatives across the media industry to foster mutually beneficial relationships with all media partners, particularly those within the NBCU family
• Assist the VP, Media Strategy & Planning with any ad-hoc projects/requests
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• 10+ years' experience in media planning and buying with a strong focus on digital planning and buying and planning TV/Streaming
• Media agency experience required

Desired Characteristics:
• Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communications/Advertising, or Media Studies
• Sports and/or Entertainment experience preferred
• A love of the Sports and Entertainment industry
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the television industry, particularly the Broadcast and Streaming TV business and Sports landscape
• An understanding of TV and Digital viewing measurement
• Extensive knowledge of marketing, advertising, and media planning principles
• Analytical skills; comfortable distilling data into actionable insights and optimization opportunities
• Strong quantitative skills with the ability to stay organized and manage time wisely
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
• Advanced communication proficiency; able to present ideas clearly and concisely, across written, verbal, active listening, and via presentation skills
• Ability to work in the gray in a matrixed organization and take initiative to move projects and conversations forward
• Team spirit; be a self-motivator with a proactive nature and collaborative attitude
• Previous management experience; supervisory and management skills including the ability to train staff at various levels
• Computer proficiency particularly with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Flexibility to adjust schedule based on workload

• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $140,000 - $150,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
