Job Description

Overview and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Visual Effects who will oversee, plan and direct all aspects of visual effects for Paramount Pictures as directed by the Visual Effects department head.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Manage VFX Budget
• Read, breakdown, bid, and budget scripts that come in for review
• Negotiate crew deals
• Manage vendors and special equipment requirements
• Liaise with Legal in papering VFX contracts
• Liaise with Filmmakers and Co-Financed Productions Studio counterparts
• Liaise with Marketing and Publicity for trailer, promotional and other needs
• Manage technical presentations
• Review VFX vendor bids to check technical methodologies and price structure
• Review dailies on all pictures
• Manage VFX Awards submissions (Academy, British Academy, and Visual Effects Society)
• Participate in all meetings requiring VFX attendance
• Sign off on approval for all VFX expenditures
• Travel for any picture events requiring VFX studio attendance
• Basic qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 10 years relevant work experience
• Experience in Visual Effects Production environment

Additional Qualifications:
• Ability to understand financial plans and budgets
• Strong computer skills including: FileMaker, Excel, Cinesync, Aspera, RV or similar
• Superior skills in problem-solving, time-management, multi-tasking, and operating in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work both independently as well as in a team atmosphere!
• Ability to efficiently handle multiple-projects and responsibilities under pressure with minimal supervision is important
• Able to work flexible hours
• Great communication and presentation skills!
• Remains calm under pressure, has strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with senior management and other high-level industry executives

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $275,000.00 - 300,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
