Job Description
The Paramount+ International Marketing Team is looking for a Senior Director of International Media working across ATL activity! You'll report to the SVP of International Media to develop elite strategies working collaboratively with local market teams on their campaign plans to elevate and integrate ATL activity across our international markets (Australia, Canada, UK&I, Germany, Italy, France, Mexico, Brazil, Japan). Our ideal candidate has media agency experience and is familiar with all ATL channels, when to use them, how to plan them and is equally as comfortable in media strategy as they are in trading conversations.
The role requires excellent partner management working closely with our International media agency Wavemaker, internal performance media team, title marketing and creative and production teams as well as our local in-market teams, media partners, Business Insight and research teams. The ideal candidate will be a result driven self-starter who is passionate about the entertainment industry. They will be able to co-create international media big ideas, analyze and critique media plans, have a good understanding of the overarching media landscape and correlating opportunities for Paramount+ within it. A strategic problem solver, this individual will have a strong sense of accountability and has an eye for business results.
This role is essential to develop and integrate best in class ATL media activity for our large-scale marketing campaigns for marquee title and new releases to ensure our most important shows, movies and originals gain maximum visibility and engagement. It is important to also identify unique opportunities cross countries and being able to share and scale these globally. The role will have oversight of the overarching test and learn agenda for media, prioritizing opportunities, sharing findings and be able to adjust planning based on these. There will also be responsibilities to analyze Marketing Mix Model (econometrics) outputs and co-create a plan based on the takeaways for each country.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
• Develop and implement a comprehensive ATL marketing communications strategy in alignment with overall brand objectives and growth targets.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define campaign goals, target audiences, and performance metrics
Campaign Management
• Collaborate with content and creative teams to conceive and launch coordinated marketing campaigns for marquee titles, original series, and high-profile movie releases
• Coordinate the Wavemaker output providing global guidelines for countries to plan their campaigns against
• Lead all aspects of the campaign plans ensuring flawless coordination across ATL and performance marketing channels
• Coordinate all phases of the ATL campaigns – conception, planning, execution, post campaign analysis
• Ensure campaign recommendations are data driven and use available findings such as MMM (econometric findings)
Media Partnerships & Agency Management
• Lead all aspects of the day-to-day relationship with Wavemaker, our global media agency guiding the development of media strategies and ensuring alignment with overall brand and campaign objectives
• Collaborate with the SVP to identify trading opportunities to drive maximum media value
• Maintain positive relationships with media vendors and agencies, understanding new testing opportunities coming to market and exploring ways to optimize our plans further
• Ensure each campaign has a clear measurement framework
Cross – Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Brand and Title marketing, PR, Content, Performance Marketing, Creative and Production, to develop a coordinated channel mix that meets both brand and acquisition goals
• Co-ordinate with performance marketing to leverage data insights and create an overall integrated, customer first media plan for maximum impact
• Work closely with campaign and creative teams to produce innovative assets that resonate with the target audience and convey the brand values
Brand Stewardship
• Serve as a brand champion, ensuring all ATL communication align with brand guidelines, core messaging, and brand voice
Performance Measurement & Reporting
• Establish key performance indicators for all ATL initiatives, continuously monitor campaign performance, and optimize strategies accordingly.
• Present insights, findings and standard processes to markets and leadership, offering data driven recommendations for future campaigns
• Work closely with Performance Marketing to ensure both ATL and performance tactics complement each other effectively
• Lead the test and learn agenda for ATL media and input into the application of MMM findings
Team Leadership & Development
• This is a senior role without any direct reports, however each country has a local team that this role will work very closely with
• Mentor wider teams to develop high-performing ATL marketing communications
• Partner engagement and relationship management is key to this role
• Play a pivotal role in upskilling the wider marketing team's ATL media knowledge
Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of media experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role overseeing ATL media
Additional Qualifications:
• BS/BA in related field preferred
• Proven track record in developing successful TV, video, OOH, digital media, radio, and print campaigns for entertainment brands or related consumer industries
• Deep understanding of media planning and buying and vendor management
• Track record of effectively managing large budgets and delivering cost-efficient results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and impactful presentations.
• Proficiency in analyzing campaign performance metrics and translating data into actionable insights
• Experience with streaming, media, technology, or subscription-based business models is highly desirable
• Strong analytical ability combined with clear and effective written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Willingness to learn, explore, and adapt
