Manager, Data Science (Remote)

Paramount+, a direct-to-consumer digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service from Paramount Global, combines live sports, breaking news, and a mountain of entertainment. We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead a growing and skilled Data Science team. In this role, you will lead the architecture, development and deployment of data models. These models will be used to increase revenue across the CBS Sports Digital portfolio.

Your Day-to-Day:
• Provide technical/software development leadership and architectural mentorship.
• Work with live odds, player and teams data to deliver real-time predictions for our various brands.
• Work with various business units to drive revenue and impact for our brands
• Work in a fast paced AGILE environment. This should be second nature (TDD, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.) with evolutionary architecture and prototyping, experience with various databases and configuration/deployment/testing solutions.
• Perform hands-on participation in team coding, developing interfaces for web applications, services and future technology.
• Review developers' code, provide feedback, and develop team knowledge.
• Collaborate with technical and business resources, capturing and documenting requirements and formulating action plans.
• Present designs and plans to executive management.
• Responsible for the day to day leadership for our team of Engineers.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possesses the highest level of experience in application development, software engineering, and application architecture. We are ideally looking for these skills and experiences:
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• 2-5 years of team leadership and managing engineering teams in a fast-paced, AGILE environment.
• 2+ Years and strong experience in one of these components: Data Engineering, Data Science, or Big Data Architecture
• Sound software engineering principles
• Has a vision for developing creative and effective tools and platforms to help manage the business and provide executive reporting
• Proven expertise in Python
• Excellence in problem solving, critical thinking, and working in a team-oriented environment

You might also have:
• Good understanding of server and cloud computing technologies
• Experience with services like AWS Sagemaker, Redshift & Kinesis
• Experience with data management systems, both relational and NoSQL and Cloud Systems and Architecture
• Experience with Git/GitHub, BitBucket or similar version control systems
• Experience in building very high traffic web assets
• Experience using Containers and Container services
