Job Description
Do you love event planning and thrive in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment? Bring your attention to detail and passion for live events to our team in the dynamic world of sports entertainment! As the Event Presentation Coordinator, you will help plan and implement 40+ Thunder events each year. Your talents in communication and organization will help us craft top-tier experiences for guests at special events and assist our game-night operations team with theme nights and specialty activations.

In this role you will:
• Serve as event lead at a variety of special events including community engagement initiatives, season ticket member events, watch parties, grassroot initiatives and much more.
• Occasionally assist the game-night planning team with special activations including theme night initiatives, t-shirting, and giveaways
• Create comprehensive event overviews and arena work orders when serving as lead of an event
• Supervise part-time event staff when serving as on-site event lead
• Help to schedule and lead event planning meetings
• Provide support as needed for Thunder Alley and other fan fest planning and execution
• Communicate all aspects of event logistics with internal departments as well as vendor and arena (or venue) staff for assigned events or as required
• Support inventory management efforts by assisting with tracking and logging, ensuring the return of event collateral to storage, and maintaining inventory to keep in good, ready to use, condition
• Collaborate with E&E team to create a run of show, scripts, venue diagrams and other production documents when necessary
• Coordinate the details of occasional regional activations (when assigned) including logistics of equipment, transportation, catering, dressing rooms or other needs as required
• Work with entertainment managers and coordinator to book Thunder entertainers and strategize optimal appearance times based on event needs
• Serve as a brand ambassador for the organization during interactions with vendors, sponsors and other constituent groups throughout the community

What you'll bring to the role:
• A minimum of one year of experience in event planning, experience in live event entertainment (sports, theater, concerts, etc.) is a plus
• Confidence and comfortability delegating to and supervising part-time staff at events
• Extreme attention to detail
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication as well as excellent listening skills
• Display flexibility and positivity to others in the face of change and last-minute initiatives
• Calm and collected - navigating change without being rattled and making clear decisions in time-sensitive situations
• Display strengths in organization and time management with strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of and curiosity about basketball and the NBA
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Punctual and able to maintain requested work schedule

Additional details:

Employees will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered. Work schedule will include office hours plus some evenings, weekends and holidays. Primary work location will be the home of the Thunder at Paycom Center, located in downtown Oklahoma City. Driver's license and clean driving record are required as local and regional travel and driving a company vehicle will be involved. Physical requirements of the position include lifting 50 pounds, bending, stretching and walking or standing for long periods, traversing in-arena stairs, work in environments that may include loud music and flashing lights, and work events that may be outdoors in varied weather conditions. This is a full-time, nonexempt position reporting to the Manager, Special Projects & Event Presentation.
