NPR seeks a highly-motivated individual to join NPR's Office of General Counsel (''OGC'') as a Senior Paralegal to support NPR attorneys with their legal work, including reviewing, drafting and managing the execution of contracts, maintaining legal records, reporting on employment and immigration matters, and special projects as assigned. We are looking for a candidate with superb oral and written communications skills, a commitment to client service, and someone who can ''own'' the tasks assigned from start to finish. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, thrive under pressure, and maintain composure while doing so are musts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Produce high quality work product, including reviewing, drafting, revising, and finalizing contracts and other legal documents under attorney supervision, and ensuring consistency with prior documents of a similar nature.
• Draft, organize, track and report on all personal services agreements, employment agreements and related amendments, reporting monthly to Human Resources, supervisors, and payroll staff on impending expiration dates, salary increases, bonuses due, and deadlines for automatic renewals.
• Coordinate processing of immigration documents among OGC attorneys, outside counsel, the People Team, and managers.
• Manage departmental administration of eforms access system, which grants contractors and other third parties access to NPR systems.
• Retrieve and provide copies of legal documents as requested by other departments within NPR.
• Assist attorneys within the department with special projects and research tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

WORK LOCATION: This is a hybrid permitted role. The employee will be required to be onsite at our Washington, DC office at least 10 days a year. The employee must also reside in an NPR supported location based on the number of onsite days they choose.

REQUIRED SKILLS
• A minimum of 7+ years' experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or legal analyst maintaining legal records in a company, law firm or government agency.
• Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to achieve consistent language across agreements that are similar in nature.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite; well-developed Internet, document management, and legal research skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven track record of forging relationships among stakeholders. Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with all levels of staff and with external parties.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• First-rate organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Resourcefulness and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, learn quickly and work well under time pressures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat required; experience using eDocs document management system and Salesforce is preferred.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following substantive areas of law is a plus: commercial contracts; intellectual property; labor and employment; immigration; media and entertainment; nonprofits; marketing; information services and technology.
