Gold and Blue Nation, the official TV partner of West Virginia University Athletics and Learfield, is seeking a Reporter/Co-Host to lead our award-winning coverage of the Mountaineers. The Reporter/Co-Host must be a skilled announcer and writer who can create engaging, entertaining and informative sports content on multiple digital platforms.

Position Summary: The Reporter/Co-Host must be a skilled writer and announcer who can craft clear and concise scripts and deliver them in an entertaining, enthusiastic manner. The Reporter/Co-Host will cover all aspects of WVU Athletics, with a heavy emphasis on football and basketball. The Reporter/Co-Host will also build and maintain relationships with players, coaches and university officials to excel as a beat reporter and bolster the GBN brand and its exclusive partnership with WVU Athletics. The Reporter/Co-Host will also anchor every episode of The WVU Coaches Show and report live from the field during every episode of Mountaineer GameDay. A strong knowledge of social media platforms and an established presence on Facebook, Instagram and X is a must. Ability to shoot photos and video and edit with Adobe Creative Cloud software is also a requirement.

Position Responsibilities
• Report news quickly and accurately on TV and the web
• Anchor multiple daily reports for five Nexstar stations (60-90 seconds in length)
• Anchor weekly episodes of The WVU Coaches Show, which airs throughout the school year on five Nexstar stations and a regional sports network
• Provide live field reporting during Mountaineer GameDay pregame shows, airing on Saturday mornings during football and basketball season on five Nexstar stations and a regional sports network
• Craft original WVU sports content that stands out from our competition on TV and the web
• Publish 3-5 digital bylines each week
• Understand types of stories/topics that matter to Mountaineer fans and will drive TV ratings and web traffic
• Work with the Executive Producer to deliver a content mix that best serves Mountaineer fans through daily Mountaineer Minutes, weekly specialty programming and regular digital features
• Operate personal social media accounts, as well as GBN-branded accounts, for reporting and story promotion
• Shoot photos and video as needed to tell stories in compelling ways
• Edit videos and photos using Adobe Creative Cloud software (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.)
• Produce and co-host episodes of The Gold and Blue Nation Podcast
• Ability to perform other digital duties as needed

Skill/Experience Requirements
• Minimum 2-3 years experience as a TV sports anchor is preferred
• Experience covering Power 5 football and basketball is a plus
• Must possess strong script writing skills, an engaging camera presence and outstanding feature storytelling clips
• Knowledge of AP style
• Ability to deliver multiple TV reports daily, meet strict deadlines and react efficiently to breaking news
• Understand social media's importance in reporting stories and delivering traffic
• Comfortability executing one-on-one interviews with athletes, coaches and high-ranking university officials
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends - when the Mountaineers play, we're there
• Schedule flexibility during summertime
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software is a must; experience with WordPress websites is also relevant
