Job Description
The White House sits at the center of political power and the news cycle, particularly as the 2024 presidential race begins to rev up after this year's midterm elections.

The Hill is looking for an experienced and energetic reporter to join our team covering the White House.

We want to grow our audience's understanding of what's happening in the White House, and how the president's decisions affect the lives of everyday Americans.

The position will also work closely with our campaign team amid possible battles for both the Democratic and Republican presidential nominations next year.

Any person in this position will be represented by the Washington-Baltimore News Guild, Communications Workers of America Local 32035, AFL-CIO.

About the Role

The position requires an ability to build sources and find interesting scoops and angles that explain the happenings of the current administration. Strong people and analytical skills will be an asset to dig out stories on a wide variety of political and policy issues.

It requires the ability to juggle breaking news stories that beat the competition; explainers that help a broad, national audience understand why a White House action or statement is important; and enterprise stories that illuminate the personalities and issues at the center of US power.

Skills and Qualifications

This position requires a t least three years of experience in a newsroom.
